Details for The Bachchans
The patriarch, poet Harivansh Rai Srivastava, had already attained cult status, replacing his last name with the literary nomenclature ‘Bachchan’ even before elder son Amitabh was
born. Amitabh Bachchan—BIG B—rose to meteoric heights in the entertainment industry and continues to reign supreme with his acting prowess, his poetic turn of phrase, his baritone voice, and his soulful rendition of emblematic songs such as ‘Jodi Tor Daak Shuney
Keyu Naa Aashe’ and the National Anthem at Jorasanko, the erstwhile residence of poet
laureate, Rabindranath Tagore.
In a style reminiscent of documentary films, The Bachchans retraces the journey of the
premier family of Bollywood—Amitabh Bachchan, wife Jaya Bachchan née Bhaduri, son
Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and now granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan— with rare colour and black-and-white pictures from private archives, that lend great elegance to this pictorial tribute.
