Modhurima Sinha, a graduate from Presidency College, Kolkata, with a Master’s in English Literature from Calcutta University, became a journalist with Asian Photography, and Bureau Chief in Kolkata. After a stint in advertising, she joined the Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, and is currently Director of Public Relations, East India. Her first book, Call of the Real, brought together 11 Bengal masters. She has lectured on Bengal painters at the Massachusetts College of Art and Wellesley College. Her study of Bengal heritage homes, photographed by Laura McPhee, is soon to be published by Yale University Press. Recently, she worked as an assistant with Aparna Sen in Goynar Baksho (2013).
