Arun Joshi

Arun Joshi (1939-1993) wrote in English and shot to fame with his very first novel, The Foreigner. This was followed by The Strange Case of Billy Biswas, The Apprentice and The Last Labyrinth, which won him the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1982. He also published a collection of short stories, The Survivor. His works carried a transcendental trait, and an overt detachment from the common day humdrum.
