Balwant Gargi

Balwant Gargi (1916-2003) was, perhaps, the finest playwright and the most controversial short story writer in the Punjabi language. The overpowering element, though cleverly and artistically interwoven, is sex for which he received a lot of flak. Gargi won the Sangeet Natak Award for Best Playwright of in 1998. He also published The Naked Triangle-a controversial autobiographical novel in English.
