Popati Hiranandani

Popati Hiranandani (1924–2005) is a poet, short story writer, novelist, essayist, literary critic, biographer, and even has an autobiography in Sindhi called Huhinje Hayatia Ja Sona Roopa verse (Golden Silver Pages of My Life) in which she observed “A woman is made to suffer not on account of any vice in her character but because of her virtues.” The autobiography has been described as, profound and energising and gives a remarkable insight into Sindhi society and the social and political upheavals following the partition of India.
