Farrukh Dhondy

Farrukh Dhondy was born in 1944 in Pune, India. He went to school and college in Pune and then won a scholarship to Cambridge University, UK, where he graduated with a dual degree in Quantum Physics and English. He went on to author write several books, including The Deccan Queen: Take Two, The Bikini Murders, and his autobiography, Fragments Against My Ruin. He has written TV sitcoms, like Tandoori Nights, and famous screenplays, such as Bandit Queen, Mangal Pandey and Jinnah. He has also written stage plays and is a regular columnist for several newspapers. He lives in Britain and has been a political activist and a commissioning editor on Channel 4 UK TV.
