Suzanne Held
Suzanne Held (1925–2020) was a distinguished French journalist and photographer renowned for her extensive work documenting Asian cultures. She studied painting, art history, and archaeology, earning a degree in political science. Initially a journalist and later editor-in-chief of “Connaissances des voyages” magazine (1970–1973), she transitioned to photography after the magazine’s closure, becoming a regular contributor to “Geo.” Throughout her career, she published around thirty photography books and held exhibitions worldwide, with her works featured in collections at institutions like the Musée Guimet in Paris and the Museum of Oriental Art in Turin. She passed away in 2020 at the age of 97.
