Easterine Kire & Poonam Jain
Easterine Kire is an award-winning author and poet who writes poetry, novels, short stories, and books for children. Her first novel, A Naga Village Remembered, was the first novel by a Naga author to be published in English. Among her other novels, Bitter Wormwood was shortlisted for the Hindu Prize in 2013, and When the River Sleeps was honoured with the Hindu Prize in 2015. Easterine Kire’s works have been translated into other languages. In 2011, she was honoured with the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Naga Literature.
